Uzbek citizens abroad warned

The recruitment of migrant workers for armed activities is on the rise in a number of countries, particularly in Russia. The Migration Agency has warned Uzbek citizens abroad that their participation in such conflicts could lead to criminal prosecution.

According to the agency,

– approaching areas where armed conflict and hostilities are taking place;

– participation in military operations;

– joining the armed forces, security services, military justice, or other power structures of foreign countries;

– It is strictly forbidden to agree to recruitment or recruitment offers made by suspicious individuals, groups or organizations.

For your information, in accordance with Article 154¹ of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, military service in foreign countries on a mercenary basis is punishable by imprisonment for a term of 3 to 5 years.
