Turkmenistan President pardons 321 prisoners on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr

In keeping with the tradition of mercy, Turkmenistan's President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has signed a decree pardoning 321 citizens held in the country's penitentiaries.

The President instructed the Chairman of the Commission, in cooperation with the heads of law enforcement agencies, to organize the timely release of pardoned individuals and their return to their families.

The President of Turkmenistan addressed the pardoned citizens, wishing them to work conscientiously, serve the homeland faithfully, and live in peace.

Turkmenistan traditionally pardons prisoners on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, Navruz, and Laylat al-Qadr. Last year, 356 citizens were pardoned on the occasion of Laylat al-Qadr during the month of Ramadan.

This tradition has been going on since 1999, and thousands of people have been pardoned so far.
