Turkish countries want to integrate energy systems
At the Tashkent international investment forum, the leaders of the energy ministries of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan signed a memorandum of cooperation on the integration of energy systems of the republics. The document envisages studying the possibilities of connecting energy systems using a high-voltage cable laid along the bottom of the Caspian Sea and through the territory of other countries.
At the Tashkent international investment forum, the leaders of the energy ministries of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan signed a memorandum of cooperation on the integration of energy systems of the republics.
The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan explained that the purpose of the memorandum is to establish the basic conditions for the implementation of the project of connecting the energy systems of the three countries.
"The purpose of the signed memorandum is to define the main conditions of cooperation within the framework of the implementation of the project of interconnection of the energy systems of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan," the ministry explained.
The document envisages studying the possibilities of connecting energy systems through a high-voltage cable laid along the bottom of the Caspian Sea and through the territory of other countries.
The Ministry added that the main approaches to the implementation of the project have already been agreed.
In November 2023, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan agreed to create a joint venture to export green energy to Europe.
