Turkey and Spain to jointly develop super aircraft carrier

Turkey and Spain have agreed to build a large aircraft carrier, approximately 300 meters long. This aircraft carrier will serve the interests of the navies of both countries, the InfoDefensa portal reported.

Haluk Gurgun, head of the Defense Industry Directorate, said that Turkey has developed its first fully operational aircraft carrier project as part of the national MUGEM program in 2024. Its length will be approximately 285 meters.

"At this point, the opportunity has arisen to create an even larger ship in cooperation with Spain. This ship will be equipped with a catapult launch system and aerobrakes that meet the most advanced standards,"

he said.
