Three Uzbeks who were victims of fraud in the UAE were repatriated

Three Uzbek citizens who found themselves in a difficult situation in the UAE have been repatriated with the support of diplomatic and charitable organizations, Dunyo news agency reports.

It is known that on December 22, 2024, they went to the UAE at the invitation of a close relative and settled in a rented house. However, the person who invited them left for Qatar on February 23 without any explanation and cut off contact.

As a result, the residents were unable to pay their rent and were left in a difficult situation. In March of this year, the landlord kicked them out, leaving two women and a minor child homeless and without financial support.

The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Dubai and the charitable organization "Center for Assistance to Women and Children" in the UAE provided them with assistance and created conditions for their return to their homeland.

The consulate and activist compatriots also jointly paid off their debt of $2,178 accrued for the period of their illegal residence in the UAE, the report said.
