On September 12, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation consisting of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Interior Minister Ali Erlikaya and Director of the National Intelligence Service Ibrahim Kalin, the press service of the president reports.

At the beginning of the meeting, the guests conveyed the greetings of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the leader of Uzbekistan.

During the discussion, within the framework of the implementation of the agreements reached during the official visit of Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Turkey on June 6-7, the urgent issues of strengthening Uzbekistan-Turkey comprehensive strategic partnership relations and development of multifaceted cooperation were discussed.

The parties highly appreciated the results of the joint meeting held by the ministers and heads of departments of the two countries. It was emphasized the importance of continuing regular and systematic contacts, expanding the format and agenda of such negotiations in accordance with the adopted "roadmap".

Issues of deepening political dialogue, promotion of trade-economic and investment cooperation projects were discussed at the meeting. Special attention was paid to strengthening inter-agency cooperation and holding joint activities to combat modern security threats and risks.

Also, opinions were exchanged on the topical aspects of regional cooperation and partnership within international organizations.

Earlier, the heads of the National Intelligence Organization of Turkey discussed cooperation with the Republic of Uzbekistan in the fight against terrorism and extremism, illegal migration and organized crime.
