Before that, the head of state went on a short vacation in December 2023, and earlier in January 2022.

Turkey

Today, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan left for Iraq after a 12-year absence. During the one-day visit, Erdogan will meet with representatives of the central government in Baghdad and the Kurdish regional government in Erbil.

It is noted that this visit will bring the relations between Ankara and Baghdad to a new level.

Among the evaluations made in Ankara, the visit, which will take place after a long break, is of historical significance both in terms of time and content, and will usher in a new era in Turkey-Iraq relations.

The parties are expected to sign many agreements and bring the dialogue between the countries to a practical level. In particular, Turkey expects the Iraqi government to designate the PKK as a "terrorist organization".

Azerbaijan

On April 22, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilhom Aliyev will hold talks.

According to the Kremlin, Aliev will hold talks with Putin in Moscow. The leaders of the two countries planned to discuss, among other things, the main issues of further development of relations between Russia and Azerbaijan, as well as exchange detailed views on the situation in the South Caucasus.

"It is planned to consider the main issues of further development of Russia-Azerbaijan strategic partnership and alliance relations, as well as to exchange detailed views on current regional problems," the report says.
