The list of Turkey's most religious provinces has been updated.

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute, Kastamonu was named the most religious province in the country. In this province, there is one mosque for every 145 people (a total of 2,605). Samsun came in second (one for every 497 people, a total of 2,751 mosques). Konya, which had previously held the lead, fell to third place with one for every 705 people, a total of 3,255 mosques. For information, the number of mosques in Uzbekistan as a whole, according to Masjid.uz, is 2,043.

This data was determined by taking into account the density of mosques in the regions and the population. Istanbul ranked fifth on this list. Kastamonu province, which was chosen as the "most religious" region in Turkey, has a population of about 400 thousand, while Istanbul, one of the cities with the largest population, ranked fifth on this list.

According to data, Kastamonu, which ranks first on the list, has one mosque for every 145 people, with a total number of mosques of 2,605.

In second place, Samsun has one mosque for every 497 people, with a total number of mosques of 2,751.

Konya, which came in third place and was previously number one on the list, has 3,255 mosques, which is one mosque for every 705 people.

The capital Ankara province, which ranks fourth on the list, has one mosque for every 1,807 people, with a total of 3,199 mosques. Istanbul, which ranks fifth, has one mosque for every 4,500 people, with a total of 3,555 mosques.
