The Indian government is deporting Muslims

The Indian government is illegally deporting Muslims in the country to Bangladesh.

According to The Guardian, Bangladesh is not accepting the deported Muslims and is sending them back.

Rights groups say Indian police have arrested thousands of people, mostly Muslims, in recent weeks on suspicion of illegally entering India from Bangladesh. Often, they are denied legal protection and Muslims are deported.

In some cases, border guards threatened those who refused to cross the border with weapons.

Bangladesh has repatriated about 200 Indians, including some who have made a long and difficult journey back home.

The Bangladeshi Foreign Ministry has reportedly made an official appeal to India on the issue, but the neighboring country's nationalist government has not responded to such requests.
