The construction of a railway wheel manufacturing plant with the participation of Russia was stopped in Kazakhstan. The project, estimated at $377 million, was not realized due to the "current geopolitical situation".

The construction of a factory intended for the production of railway wheels with the participation of the Russian company "Aktobel" in Aktyubinsk region of Kazakhstan was stopped. It was reported by Railway Supply railway transport news portal.

It is said that such a decision was taken by the Akimat state administration due to the "emerging international geopolitical situation".

Earlier, it was reported that the Aktobestil company plans to launch a railway wheel manufacturing plant in the Aktyubinsk region of Kazakhstan in 2025.

The cost of the plant was estimated at 168 billion tenge ( 377 million dollars ) , and it was supposed to produce up to 330,000 wheels for railway transport per year.
