Kazakhstan has banned Russian TV presenter, director of TNT TV channel Tina Kandelaki from entering the country, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aybek Smadiyarov, reported.

"If you don't like someone, you don't let them into your house. So do we. We will take action when necessary. Don't make us do it today or tomorrow. The state will never forgive such a thing. She (Tina Kandelaki. - ed.) is probably not coming to Kazakhstan, even if she does, she will not be admitted," Smadiyarov said.

Earlier, Kandelaki wrote on his Telegram channel that Kazakhstan is allegedly "slowly but surely continuing to suppress the Russian language at the state level." He added that the republic intends to change the name of several railway stations and replace Russian names with Kazakh ones. For example, it is proposed to replace "Uralsk" station with "Ural", " Uzen " station with "Janaozen", etc.

Kandelaki's views caused heated discussions in Kazakhstan. In particular, Deputy Maqsat Taliqbai mentioned that more than 70 percent of the population of Kazakhstan are ethnic Kazakhs, and the Kazakh language unites a large part of the indigenous population of the country.

"This is a person's personal opinion. Does it have anything to do with Kazakhstan? Was he here? In fact, no one is squeezing anything out," MP Irina Smirnova said in response to Kandelaki's statement.
