Temu may be blocked in Uzbekistan

The Chinese Temu marketplace may soon be blocked in Uzbekistan, representatives of the National Agency for Promising Projects said.

Starting July 1, 2025, foreign e-commerce platforms operating in Uzbekistan will be required to register as legal entities and become taxpayers. Temu has not yet met this requirement.

"If they do not register officially, their activities may be suspended," says an agency representative.

Officials say Temu evaded taxes and customs duties, and also took $10 million in foreign currency out of Uzbekistan in 2024.

Therefore, along with Temu, AliExpress, Amazon, Ozon, Netflix, Spotify, and other international online services are also required to be registered in the country.
