Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Binali Yildirim, Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States, a well-known politician and former Prime Minister of Turkey. The Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Turkic States Organization arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the World Urban Planning Congress.

On February 18, Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Binali Yildirim, Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States, a prominent politician, and former Prime Minister of Turkey, who arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in international events in the field of urban development. The presidential press service reported.

At the beginning of the meeting, the guest conveyed greetings from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the head of state.

The parties considered the issues of expanding multilateral cooperation within the organization, taking into account the increasing role and active participation of the Council of Elders in coordinating and promoting multilateral cooperation.

It was emphasized that it is important to expand practical partnership and intensify contacts in order to implement the programs and initiatives adopted at the end of the summits of the Organization of Turkic States.

Issues of preparation for and holding upcoming events within the framework of the TDT were considered.

It is worth noting that the Council of Elders is a permanent advisory body under the TDT.

The Turkic World Urban Planning Congress is organized by the Association of Engineers and Architects, founded in Ankara in 2002. The khokimiyats of the cities of Samarkand and Navoi actively participate in the activities of the association.

Earlier, at a business forum in Azerbaijan, it was announced that the capital of the Turkish Investment Fund, established within the framework of the TDT, would be increased to $600 million. This is aimed at expanding financing for small and medium-sized businesses, as well as infrastructure and trade projects in the region.
