Seven people arrested after nearly a thousand kindergarten children were poisoned



Seven people have been remanded in custody as part of a criminal investigation into mass poisonings in kindergartens in the Tashkent region, Kun.uz reported.

Three of those arrested are officials from the food manufacturing company that is alleged to have caused the poisoning. Another four are officials from outsourcing companies that supply food to kindergartens.

The criminal investigation was transferred from the regional Department of Internal Affairs to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the sanitary and epidemiological service, the number of kindergarten children diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis is 963, of which 269 have recovered so far, and another 421 are expected to be discharged from the hospital today, September 27, as they have recovered.
