Sardor Umurzakov has been assigned a new task
A new council has been created to make proposals to the President of Uzbekistan on the country's domestic and foreign policy. It will be headed by Sardor Umurzakov, an advisor to the head of state.
On December 31, Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution on measures to effectively organize strategic analysis and research activities in the social, political and economic development of the country, the Ministry of Justice reported.
The document established a Coordinating Council for the Organization of the Activities of Analytical and Research Structures.
One of the main tasks of the council was to regularly submit to the president long-term strategic analytical documents on social, political, and economic development, as well as proposals on the country's domestic and foreign policy.
The Coordinating Council is an advisory body responsible for organizing strategic research on domestic and foreign policy processes and coordinating all processes for their implementation.
The Council will be headed by Sardor Umurzakov, who has been serving as the President's Special Advisor since August 2023.
Working groups will be established within the Council responsible for the following areas:
security and social stability;
state and society building;
socio-economic development;
foreign policy and international cooperation;
strategic planning and development of territories;
environmental agenda, including climate change and water scarcity issues.
