Mirziyoyev expressed his support for expanding the SCO

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke at a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in China. The head of state expressed Tashkent's support for the idea of gradual expansion of the organization. (https://president.uz/uz/lists/view/8448)

Mirziyoyev noted that expanding the SCO's dialogue partners, including to include countries from other regions, will make it possible to transform the organization into a platform for cooperation with the countries of the global South.

"We are in favor of the consistent expansion of the organization, because the success of the "SCO model" lies in its openness and orientation towards broad cooperation. We support the aspirations of countries that link their future with the SCO," the president said.
