Kasim-Jomart Tokaev signed the law on ratification of the treaty on the alliance relations between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The document aims to expand cooperation in political, trade-economic, transit-transport, energy, civil defense and other areas.

The President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokaev signed the law on ratification of the treaty on alliance relations with Uzbekistan. This was reported by the official website of the head of state.

"The head of state signed the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the ratification of the treaty on alliance relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan," Akorda reported.

On April 25, the deputies of the Senate of Kazakhstan ratified the agreement on alliance relations.

The corresponding agreement was signed by the leaders of the two countries on December 22, 2022 in Tashkent. On November 30, 2023, the president ratified the agreement.

The document is aimed at expanding cooperation in the political, trade-economic, transit-transport, cultural-humanitarian, civil defense and energy sectors, and envisages strengthening mutual cooperation in the international arena.

According to the terms of the agreement, the parties will help to strengthen the relations between the parliaments, political parties and public organizations of the two countries.

Also, in the issues of international terrorism, religious extremism and separatism, transnational organized crime, cybercrime, illegal migration, human trafficking, illegal trade, including foreign policy, defense, security spheres, weapons, narcotics, close cooperation is envisaged in psychotropic substances and their precursors.
