Kazakhstan has simplified visa requirements for "digital nomads".
Kazakhstan has simplified visa requirements for "digital nomads" - telecommuting IT professionals, business migrants and travelers - from around the world. The new measures came into force on November 18.
In particular, it has simplified the requirements for obtaining a Digital Nomad visa, intended for IT professionals, for a long-term stay (more than 90 days) and one or more entries.
The Neo Nomad visa is available to telecommuters who can certify that they earn more than $3,000 per month. This visa allows them to live in Kazakhstan while working online.
The country has also simplified the conditions for obtaining a business visa. The government has reduced the requirements for a C5 visa recipient.
Another B9 visa is intended for professionals who are in high demand (for example, in the petrochemical and mining industries). The visa allows them to stay longer in the country and apply for a residence permit.
In addition, family reunification became easier. The period for obtaining citizenship through marriage was reduced from three years to one year.
These changes are aimed at improving Kazakhstan's investment climate, attracting talented professionals, and promoting the country as a more attractive destination for international business and tourism.
Since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, more than 40 large companies have moved from Russia to Kazakhstan. Their total value exceeds 1.5 billion dollars, said Bauyrzhan Kudaybergenov, Deputy Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan, in March of this year.
Among the companies that moved their headquarters and production from Russia to Kazakhstan are Honeywell of America, Fortescue of Australia, Marubeni of Japan, as well as TikTok and InDrive of China. In addition, the South Korean company Kia plans to start production in Kazakhstan: in September of this year, the company started construction of a factory in the city of Kostanay, located 150 km from the border with Russia.
