The government of Iran has approved an agreement with 33 countries to cancel the visa regime. According to Iran's IRNA news agency, the proposal to cancel visas with these countries was initiated by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Folk Crafts and supported by the Iranian government.
Minister Izzatullah Zargami called this step a "bold decision" and noted that from now on it will be easier for citizens of 33 countries to travel to Iran and get closer to its natural, cultural and religious attractions .
He reminded that Iran ranks 10th with 27 tangible heritage of humanity and 5th with 24 intangible heritage of humanity.
Countries that canceled the visa regime for Iran: India, Russia, UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Mauritania, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, Seychelles, Indonesia, Brunei, Japan, Singapore , Cambodia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Brazil, Peru, Cuba, Mexico, Venezuela, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia and Belarus.
According to the latest statistics, the number of foreign visitors to Iran reached 4.4 million in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (started on March 21), which is 48.5 percent more than the same period last year.
