The Parliament of Kazakhstan ratified the agreement with China on the development of the Trans-Caspian international transport route. Due to the agreement, the total shipping speed from China to Europe will be reduced from the current 19-23 days to 12-13 days.

Kazakhstan's parliament ratified the agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and China on the development of the Trans-Caspian international transport route at its plenary session, Kazpravda.kz reported.

As noted in the document, the law is aimed at ratifying the Agreement on the Development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route concluded in Beijing between the governments of Kazakhstan and the People's Republic of China. Its purpose is to develop multimodal transport along the Trans-Caspian international transport route.

It mainly proposes to use the advantages of road, sea and railway transport, which create favorable conditions for the transportation of goods across the territories of Kazakhstan and China.

"This agreement will help increase the volume of cargo transportation along the Trans-Caspian international transport route and further develop trade and economic relations between Kazakhstan and China," the conclusion reads.

Thanks to the agreement, the transit time of goods along the Trans-Caspian international transport route will be reduced by half. The total shipping speed from China to Europe will be reduced to 12-13 days.

Currently, the transit of goods from China to Europe takes 19 to 23 days, including 6 days through the territory of Kazakhstan.
