Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have joined forces to develop "green" energy
As part of the SOP 29 World Climate Summit, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Kasim-Jomart Tokayev, Ilhom Aliyev signed an agreement on strategic partnership between Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan in the field of "green" energy production and transmission. This was reported by DKnews.kz.
It is noted that this event will be a new page in the history of striving for sustainable development.
"The signing of the strategic partnership agreement is an important stage of tripartite cooperation for the development of Central Asia and South Caucasus regions. The document opens up new opportunities for the integration of the energy systems of our countries, as well as for the creation of reliable corridors for the supply of environmentally friendly energy to Europe and other markets... Close cooperation in this important direction will strengthen the exchange of experience and advanced technologies between the three countries and further strengthen our energy security. said the head of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokaev.
It was noted that these countries are actively working to reduce dependence on fossil resources, develop technological innovations and create infrastructure that can support environmental stability.
President Ilhom Aliev noted that today's agreement will raise the relations of brotherhood and strategic partnership between the three countries to a new level.
"The regions of Central Asia and the Caucasus work together on many issues, including the development of green energy. We know about the big plans and the achieved results for the creation of renewable energy sources in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan," said Ilhom Aliev.
In turn, the President of Uzbekistan noted that this agreement is not only an economic goal, but also a common contribution to the future.
"I would emphasize the ecological importance of this project. The energy transferred will be wind and solar energy and help mitigate the impact on the climate. Through this, we support joint efforts to achieve climate protection and Sustainable Development goals under the Paris Agreement."
In addition, Uzbekistan's Energy Minister Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, Kazakhstan's Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliev, Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Saudi Arabia's Energy Minister Abdul Aziz bin Salman participated in the event. Al Saud signed an Executive Program for cooperation in the field of green energy development and transmission.
