Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Kazakhstan Alexei Borodavkin reported that the share of mutual settlements between Kazakhstan and Russia in national currencies has reached 80%.

He noted that this means the transition to basic payments in rubles and tenge. Borodavkin also mentioned that the trade between the two countries increased by 23% last year.

In addition, he noted that Kazakhstan will take the fifth place among the largest trading partners of Russia in 2022. Borodavkin also noted that Russia has invested more than 22 billion dollars in this country since the independence of Kazakhstan, and if we take into account investments made through offshore zones, the total amount has reached about 55 billion dollars.

According to the information of the government of Kazakhstan, for 2022, the share of mutual settlements of national currencies was 70-75 percent .
