Informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States held

Yesterday, May 21, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Budapest.

The summit exchanged views on the current state and prospects of multilateral cooperation within the organization.

Mirziyoyev proposed developing proposals to improve the activities and structure of the International Turkic Cultural Organization - TURKSOY, and holding the next meeting of the Council of the Turkic Cultural Foundation in Uzbekistan.

He also congratulated Aziz Sancar, a prominent Turkish scientist, biochemist, and Nobel Prize laureate, on receiving the Alisher Navoi International Prize.

At the end of the summit, the Budapest Declaration was adopted, as well as a number of other documents on priority areas of cooperation.
