Foreign student criticizes quality of education at Tashkent Medical Academy

A message has been circulating on social media stating that a first-year Indian student studying at the Tashkent Medical Academy complained about the poor quality of education and that teachers were unable to speak English fluently.

He says that basic medical disciplines are not being taught adequately at the university, and that classes are being canceled or reduced.

"They force you to take 4 hours of English lessons, and anatomy is only 20 minutes. And the exams are not serious - you just have to memorize 50 questions from a PDF," the student says.

At the same time, the student's post also mentioned the unsatisfactory living conditions. He also expressed his dissatisfaction with the treatment of the academy administration and some teachers.

But there is another side to the issue: foreign students choose to study medicine in Uzbekistan for a number of reasons - low contract prices, an easy learning process, and favorable conditions.

So far, officials have not commented on the matter.
