In February 2023 , an earthquake of magnitude 7.7 occurred in Pazarjik district of Kahramanmarash region of Turkey at 04:17 , and an earthquake of magnitude 7.6 occurred in Elbiston district at 13:24 .
53 thousand 537 people lost their lives and 107 thousand 213 people were injured in the catastrophe of the century , which had a strong impact on Hatay, Osmaniya, Adi Yaman, Diyarbakir, Sanliurfa, Gaziantep, Kilis, Adana, Malatya and Elazig.
After the earthquake, which Turkey declared a level 4 warning , the national and Search and rescue teams from 93 countries, including Uzbekistan, participated in the work in the region.
Earthquakes that directly affected 14 million citizens in an area of 120,000 square kilometers caused great destruction in 11 regions, 124 districts, 6,929 villages and neighborhoods.
A 7-day national mourning was declared across the country, and a state of emergency was declared in the area where the earthquake occurred.
After the earthquake, all state institutions, local administrations, non-governmental non-profit organizations and volunteers were mobilized, and all the necessary aid , in particular, water, food, medicine and clothes were quickly sent to the region.
Search operations were conducted in 38,901 buildings destroyed by earthquakes, and search and rescue operations were conducted in 26,000 buildings where people were found to be living .
11,488 foreigners , 35,250 local search and rescue personnel and 142,000 security personnel , a total of 650,000 personnel were involved in these works .
645,000 containers were installed in 350 tent cities in the region, and 215,224 containers were installed in 414 container cities.
2,302,000 buildings and 6,227,000 yards have been assessed for damage and 91 percent of the debris removal process has been completed so far.
Construction of 307,000 houses has started in the city centers and rural areas of the earthquake-hit area as part of the treatment of the injuries of the citizens affected by the earthquake.
