The head of the Information and Communication Department of the Office of the President of Turkey, professor Fakhriddin Altun, made a statement about the situation with Syrian refugees in the country. According to him, the government is closely monitoring attempts to create a negative atmosphere in the country and increase tension in society against refugees.

"Provocative actions aimed at disrupting public order are being observed by certain circles led by elements hostile to Turkey. Of course, they will not achieve their dark intentions," said Altun.

He noted that state agencies are working around the clock against disinformation on social networks and other platforms.

Altun called on citizens to be careful and not to be influenced by baseless news. He mentioned the importance of considering the scope and likelihood of misinformation when distributing content.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemned those who incite xenophobia and hatred towards refugees.

Erdogan blamed the recent unrest in Kayseri on "poisonous statements from the opposition," saying vandalism and violence were unacceptable and that his party would never tolerate discrimination or hate speech in its politics.
