Copies of the letters of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) will be on display in Tashkent
A papyrus copy of the letters of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to world rulers is planned to be displayed at the Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent, the center's press service reported.
It is reported that the exhibition will include a scientifically based reconstruction of one of the most important historical letters - a letter sent to the Roman emperor Heraclius. It is also expected to include copies of letters sent to the rulers of Ethiopia, Egypt, Bahrain, Oman, and the Persian king.
According to information provided by the Muslim Office, a letter written by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to the Byzantine, or Eastern Roman, Emperor Heraclius inviting him to Islam is kept in the museum of the King Hussein Mosque in Jordan.
The letter to Heraclius was written in the month of Muharram, 7 AH, 628 AD. The content of the invitation letter sent by the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to the Byzantine leader Heraclius in Uzbek is as follows:
“Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem. From the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad, to Heraclius, the elder of Rome:
"Peace be upon those who follow the right path. But then, I invite you to Islam. If you convert to Islam, your soul will be safe. Become a Muslim, and Allah will give you a double reward. And if you refuse to accept Islam, the sins of the Aryans, that is, your people, will fall on your shoulders."
Similar letters of invitation were sent by the Prophet (peace be upon him) to the Roman Caesar, to the Persian King Cyrus, to the Negus of Abyssinia, to the Holy Prophet of Egypt, to the Emir of Ghassan, and to the King of Yamama through the envoys of the Companions.
