All cultural events related to Russia canceled in Azerbaijan

All cultural events organized by Russian state and private institutions in Azerbaijan have been canceled.

The decision by the Ministry of Culture was made in response to the actions of Russian law enforcement agencies in Yekaterinburg, where large-scale raids were carried out on the residences and workplaces of Azars, and more than 50 Azerbaijanis were detained. Two people, brothers Ziyoddin and Husayn Safarov, were killed during the raid.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry summoned the representative of the Russian Embassy in Baku, Pyotr Volokov, to its office and lodged an official protest. The foreign ministry called the actions of the Russian security forces "unacceptable violence."
