A train collided with a truck in Russia, 140 people were injured

A passenger train traveling from Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan, to Adler collided with a KAMAZ truck in the Volgograd region of Russia. The accident was caused by the truck stopping on the train track. At least 140 people were injured in the incident.

At least 140 people, including 33 children, suffered various injuries as a result of a collision of a train traveling from the capital of Tatarstan to Adler with a "KAMAZ" truck, the Shot Telegram channel reports.

It is believed that the driver of a truck loaded with sand - 43-year-old Aslanbek U. - was the cause of the accident near Volgograd, and he suffered serious injuries to his head and legs. His car got stuck at a railroad crossing, and the train driver's emergency brake did not help prevent the collision.

During questioning, the truck driver said he "didn't have time to slow down before the intersection." The mass media are focusing on the absence of fines in "KAMAZ", which belongs to the Kaliningrad construction company.

It is noted that there were a total of 803 passengers on the train, most of whom were children going on an organized vacation. Search and rescue operations are ongoing at the scene of the tragedy. There are currently no reports of casualties.
