A fire broke out in a nature reserve in the south of Kazakhstan
In the territory of the Ile-Balkhash state reserve, which is located in the Balkhash region of the south of Kazakhstan, 18 hectares of dried brushwood and reeds burned. The hydrometeorological service predicts that the temperature in the south of the country will rise to 40 degrees already in May, which, in turn, will increase the risk of fires.
Tengrinews.kz reported that dead trees and reeds burned in the territory of the Ile-Balkhash state reserve in Balkhash region.
According to the information of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the employees of "Kazaviaspas" have already poured 159 tons of water on the area where the fire broke out. The area of the initial fire is 18 hectares.
The Ministry assured that there is no danger to settlements. At the same time, difficult-to-reach swamps and constantly changing directions of strong winds complicate firefighting .
Weather services predict that temperatures in southern Kazakhstan will reach 40 degrees as early as May, which will dramatically increase the risk of fire.
At the moment, the regions in the north of the country are suffering from floods due to the rapid melting of snow and glaciers. As of April 22, 23,085 Kazakhs evacuated due to flooding have already returned home, while 8,872 people, including 3,852 children, remain in evacuation centers.
To date, water has been removed from 4554 houses and 2767 yards. Such works are being continued in 5,842 households and more than a thousand yards.
