The death toll from a fire that broke out early this morning at a hotel in the Kartalkaya ski resort in the Bolu region of Turkey has risen to 76.
The country's Prosecutor General's Office arrested 9 people, including the hotel manager.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has declared a day of national mourning in response to the tragedy. Erdogan also said that all necessary measures will be taken to hold those responsible for the Kartalkaya hotel fire accountable.
The President of Uzbekistan expressed condolences
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has sent his condolences to President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan following the death and serious injuries of many people in a massive fire at a ski resort in the Bolu region of Turkey.
"Expressing deep condolences to the leader and people of brotherly Turkey, the head of our state wished patience and fortitude to the families and loved ones of the deceased, and a speedy recovery to the injured," the letter from the head of Uzbekistan reads.
The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Turkey stated that, according to preliminary information, there were no Uzbeks involved in the hotel fire.
