Since the end of the Second Karabakh War on November 10, 2020, 70 Azerbaijani citizens have been victims of the explosion of mines hidden by Armenians, and 311 people have been injured. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan called on the international community not to turn a blind eye to Armenia's "landmine terror" against Azerbaijan.

According to a joint statement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan and the Mine Action Agency (ANAMA), another local citizen was injured in a mine explosion in the Gazakh district on the border with Armenia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that since the end of the Second Karabakh War, 381 Azerbaijani citizens have suffered from landmines.

"The international community should not turn a blind eye to Armenia's ongoing mine terror against Azerbaijan," said the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It is estimated that hundreds of thousands of landmines were planted by the Armenian army in the Karabakh region and its surrounding areas, which were liberated from the Armenian occupation. However, the Armenian side refuses to hand over a complete map of the mined areas.

During the last week (07.10.2024 - 13.10.2024) 141 anti-personnel and 64 anti-tank mines, 625 unexploded ammunition were found in the territories liberated from Armenian occupation. 1198.7 hectares of land were cleared of mines and unexploded ammunition.

At the same time, since the end of the Second Karabakh War on November 10, 2020, 70 Azerbaijani citizens have been victims of mine explosions, and 311 people have been injured.
