10 people died in an accident involving 7 cars in Turkey
An accident involving three buses, a truck and 4 cars took place on the highway in the Sakarya region of Turkey.
10 people were killed and 59 injured in an accident involving 7 cars on the Sakarya section of the Northern Marmara highway in Turkey, Anadolu reports. The drivers of 6 cars involved in the accident were arrested.
It is noted that three buses, one truck and four passenger cars crashed at the Tashkisig direction of the highway in Istanbul. According to the latest information, the accident was caused by thick fog covering the road.
The Minister of Health, Fahrettin Koja, in a post on his social media account, said that 10 people died at the scene of the accident, 59 people were injured, 8 of them were serious.
Governor of Sakarya Yashar Karadeniz told journalists that the causes of the accident are being investigated, according to initial assumptions, the accident was caused by a car hitting a truck, and then other cars collided one after another. Also, in the preliminary investigations, it was said that some of the dead were pedestrians who were hit by the main car coming from behind when they got out of their cars.
