$1 million for Umrah: Religious Committee begins accepting applications for licenses

The Committee for Religious Affairs announced on March 7 this year that it has begun accepting new applications from business entities for Umrah licenses. This was announced exclusively on the committee's official website.

Conditions for license applicants, such as the $1 million reserve in the "Ziyarat" fund and contracts with airlines, have not changed.

It should be noted that in recent years, about a hundred tour companies in Uzbekistan had the right to provide Umrah services. However, after the difficulties in obtaining a license were made more difficult, in particular, after the introduction of a reserve requirement of $ 1 million, the number of those providing this service has sharply decreased. In particular, in November 2024, only 12 tour companies were granted licenses to organize Umrah pilgrimages.
