During the time of Umar ibn al-Khattab, three people and a poor young man came to him and said:

- O Commander of the Faithful, we ask you to take revenge for us from this young man, because this man killed us and our father.

Umar ibn al-Khattab:

- Why did you kill their father?

Guy:

- I am a shepherd who grazes camels and goats. Because one of my camels ate a tree on their father's land, my father hit my camel with a stone and killed it. Then I took the same stone and hit his father, and he died.

Umar ibn al-Khattab said:

- So, you are sentenced to punishment.

Guy:

- Give me three days. My father died. They left me and my younger brother a treasure. If you execute me, my inheritance will be lost after me, and my brother will be lost.

Umar ibn al-Khattab:

- Who can guarantee that you will come back?

As the young man makes pictures of people's faces, he points to Abu Zarr as this person.

Umar ibn al-Khattab:

- O Abu Zarr, are you a guarantor for this young man?

Abu Dharr:

- Yes, O Commander of the Faithful.

Umar ibn al-Khattab:

"You don't know that guy." If you try to run away, I will punish you instead.

Abu Dharr said:

- I vouch for him, O Commander of the Faithful.

With that, the young man left. One day, two days, and finally the third day pass, and there is no sign of the boy. All the people were worried about Abu Zarr. They did not want him to be punished at all.

At that moment, shortly before the evening prayer, the young man came running. It was clear from his face that he was tired and exhausted. A young man, Umar ibn al-Khattab, stopped in front of the Commander of the Faithful.

Guy:

- I handed over the treasure to my brother. Now, you can punish me. I am at your disposal.

Umar ibn al-Khattab was surprised and asked:

- What brought you back? You could run away, right?!

Guy:

- I was afraid that after the death of the Messenger of Allah, they would say that "there is no such thing as "covenant and loyalty" left in people."

Umar ibn al-Khattab asked Abu Dharr:

- What did you vouch for?

Abu Dharr:

- I was afraid that they would say, "After the death of the Messenger of God, there is no "goodness" left in people."

The children of the dead man were moved by this and said, "We forgave him."

Umar ibn al-Khattab:

- Why? What for?

Guys:

- We are afraid that people will say, "After the death of the Messenger of God, people are losing their 'amnesty'."
