"Death or Freedom": Who is Yahya Sinwar, the new leader of Hamas?

We prefer martyrdom to death in oppression and humiliation. These words belong to Yahya Sinwar, who was appointed as the new leader of the movement to replace Ismail Haniya, the chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau, who was killed in Tehran.

While Iran is not tired of taking revenge on Israel for the death of Haniya, the number one enemy of the Zionists, one of the organizers of the October 7 "Aqsa Flood" operation of the resistance movement, Yahya Sinvar, who was promised $400,000 by the occupiers for information about his whereabouts, came to the leadership of Hamas.

Zionist analyst Avi Issacharoff echoed the concerns of the invaders, writing that "Hamas has chosen the most dangerous person to rule."

Michael Milstein, a former Israeli intelligence officer, said, "The most we could not understand from Hamas was Yahya Sinvar. "He was a cunning, very cunning person who always succeeded in the biggest deceptions."

So, who is Yahya Sinwar, who became the invaders' nightmare, who founded the Hamas security service, and is called "the nine souls" by the Zionists? Why was he considered the leader of the Palestinian liberation movement?

Yahya Ibrahim Hasan Sinwar was born on October 7, 1962 in the Khan Yunis refugee camp in southern Gaza. According to information, Sinvar's family lived in Ashkelon, which is now located in the south of Israel. They were forced to leave their homes during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war. This was caused by the occupation of the city formerly known as Al-Majdal by the Zionists and the expulsion of the original landowners from their land. After graduating from a boys' school in Sinwar Khan Yunis, he entered the Islamic University of Gaza. Student period helped him gain experience and knowledge. This was reflected in Sinwar's life after the founding of the Hamas movement.

He was arrested by Israel in 1982 for taking part in anti-occupation protests while studying at the university. He met many Palestinian activists in prison. After that, he decided to devote his life to the liberation of Palestine.

In 1985, Sinwar was kept in prison for 8 months without trial.

In 1986, together with Khaled Al-Hindi and Rawhi Mushtaha, he founded the Al-Majid security organization on the orders of the founder of the movement, Sheikh Ahmed Yassin.

In addition to monitoring Israel's intelligence and security services, its mission was to expose Zionist agents and spies. This organization will soon become the internal security arm of the Hamas movement.

Sinwar is serving four life sentences for the 1988 murders of two Israeli soldiers and four Palestinian traitors. He also tried to escape from prison twice - from Majdal prison in Ashkelon and from Ramla prison, but these attempts ended in failure and he was severely punished.

Yahya Sinvar is known not only for his leadership, but also for his determination and persistence in difficult times. Despite the fact that he spent 23 years of his life in Zionist prisons, under various oppressions and tortures, Sinwar did not stop searching.

He spent his time in prison reading and studying. During this time, he learned Hebrew and tried to understand the Jewish mentality. He has written and translated a number of books in the fields of politics, security and literature.

For example, his work "Glory" published in 2010, highlighted the physical and psychological effects of the intelligence gathering, training and recruitment of agents of the Shin Bet - Israel's internal security service, as well as the brutal investigative methods. Carmi Gillon's translation of the book "Shin Bet among the Ruins" also revealed the Zionists' involvement.

During his time in prison, Sinwar led the High Leadership Committee of Hamas prisoners and led confrontations with the prison service during a series of hunger strikes, including the 1992, 1996, 2000, and 2004 Israeli crackdowns.

He is transferred to several prisons, such as Majdal, Hadarim, Sabaa and Nafha, and spends 4 years in solitary confinement. During this time, he suffers from abdominal pain and starts vomiting blood. Later, he suffers from health problems again. His temperature rises sharply and his condition worsens. Due to the great pressure of the prisoners, he undergoes a medical examination and it is discovered that he has a brain tumor. Because of this, Sinwar undergoes a 7-hour surgery.

In 2006, two Zionist terrorists were killed and a soldier named Gilad Shalit was captured in a special operation organized by the Al-Qassam branch of Hamas. He was held captive by Hamas for 5 years. The occupiers decide to release thousands of Palestinians in exchange for Gilad Shalit in 2011. Among them was Yahya Sinvar.

After his release, Sinwar was elected a member of the Political Bureau of the Hamas movement in the 2012 internal elections. He also assumed command of the military wing - Izzad-Din al-Qassam Brigades.

On November 21, 2011, she married Samar Muhammad Abu Zamar, who received a master's degree in theology from the Islamic University of Gaza. At the moment, they have a son named Ibrahim.

In particular, Sinwar was instrumental in coordinating the political and military aspects of the movement during Israel's seven-week aggression against Gaza in 2014.

Even after this attack, it conducted extensive investigations and evaluated the performance of those in charge. As a result, prominent leaders were fired.

In 2015, the United States, the sponsor of the Zionists, also included Yahya Sinwar in the list of most wanted "international terrorists".

His house was bombed several times. It was completely destroyed by the occupation planes. Enemies made an excuse that they could not lose Sinwar due to his caution, not talking much, and rarely appearing in public.

Eliminating the leader of Hamas has become the most important strategic goal of Israel's military operations in the Gaza Strip.

On November 14, 2023, the British government imposed sanctions on Hamas leaders, including Yahya Sinwar.

On November 30, 2023, the French government issued an order freezing Sinvar's assets, if any, for six months.

On December 6, 2023, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu boasted that Israeli army forces had surrounded Sinwar's home, but the assassins were unable to kill Sinwar.

Even once, Yahya Sinvar's house was bombed by Israeli fighter jets. And he takes a photo in front of his destroyed house, smiling. This is another proof that no matter how much the enemies of Islam try , God cannot lose His servant.

The new leader of Hamas, Yahya Sinwar, unlike his predecessor Ismail Haniyeh, is known for his intransigence against the invaders. This means that the US and Israeli occupiers are not weakening Muslims by shedding more innocent blood, but instead are increasing their opposition and hatred.
