Zelensky: War in Ukraine may end in 2025
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that there are opportunities to end the war in 2025, and US President Donald Trump also wants it.
In an interview with the British television channel ITV News, Zelensky stressed the need to strengthen sanctions against Russia and provide guarantees for the country's security in order to bring peace to Ukraine.
"We really want this. Every year, to be honest, we would like our Western partners to have enough power to force Putin to end the war. There is every chance for this in 2025," Zelensky said.
In his opinion, US President Donald Trump is in favor of ending the war as soon as possible, and European countries should also actively participate in this process.
Sanctions and security guarantees
Zelensky stressed the need to strengthen sanctions against Russia, noting that Moscow is adapting to them, but its economy is suffering serious damage.
"Ukraine needs security guarantees. If we don't have guarantees, Putin will have the opportunity to attack again. And this is dangerous for the entire Western world," the Ukrainian leader said.
"Putin's victory is the defeat of the Western world. If it is not stopped, it will then spread to Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland," Zelensky added.
"The Victory Plan" and Trump's involvement
Zelenskyy said that the "victory plan" developed by Ukraine could serve as the basis for Trump's peace plan.
"We can talk about peace, but there will be no truly just world until evil is punished," Volodymyr Zelenskyy concluded.
