Zelenskiy: "Qrim — bu Ukraine"

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has categorically rejected the possibility of discussing the status of Crimea, insisting that the peninsula belongs to Ukraine.

"This is our territory, the land of the Ukrainian people. There is no room for discussion on this issue - this issue is outside the scope of our Constitution," Zelensky said at a briefing in London ahead of talks with representatives of the United States and the European Union.

The head of state also stressed that any negotiations on Crimea and other occupied territories would only prolong the war.

Previously, The Washington Post reported that at the talks in London, the US delegation may present a proposal to the Ukrainian side to recognize Russian control over Crimea and freeze the front line.

Zelensky also commented on reports that control of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant (NPP) will be transferred to the United States. According to him, the plant should remain under Ukrainian control only.

"If we restore the Zaporozhye NPP together with the United States and jointly generate income from electricity, this is a natural and acceptable situation. But the United States cannot operate the station without Ukraine," Zelensky said.

Recall that earlier, US President Donald Trump expressed hope that an agreement would be reached soon between Russia and Ukraine.
