Yemeni Armed Forces claim to have attacked US warships

March 16, 2025 – In response to the US's open military aggression against Yemen, the Yemeni Armed Forces announced a major attack on the aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman and its military escort ships in the northern Red Sea.

According to an official statement, US forces have carried out more than 47 airstrikes in Yemen's provinces of Sana'a, Saada, Al-Bayda, Hajjah, Damar, Marib and Al-Jawf in recent hours. Dozens of civilians have reportedly been killed and injured as a result of these bombings.

The Houthis confirmed that they responded to this aggression by launching 18 ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as drones, targeting US warships. The military operation was carried out in a coordinated manner by missile forces, drones, and naval units.

The Armed Forces leadership announced that it will continue to target all American warships in the Red and Arabian Seas in order to protect the country's territorial integrity and independence. It was also emphasized that Israeli and American ships participating in the blockade of the Gaza Strip will be prohibited from entering this area.
