Yahya Sinvar fought for three days without eating or drinking - Israeli press

Palestinian Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar did not eat for 72 hours before he was killed in a clash with Israeli forces, according to an Israeli forensics report.

Hen Kugel, director of Israel's National Institute of Forensic Science, said a DNA sample was taken from the amputated finger to confirm Sinvar's identity.

The samples were confirmed to belong to Sinwar, who was released in a prisoner exchange in 2011 after spending 22 years in an Israeli prison.

"After the gunshot wound, which caused severe brain damage, Sinwar lived for several more hours," Kugel said.

As various Israeli journalists and publications covered the death of the leader of the Hamas movement, they acknowledged that the Palestinian leader fought to the end.

It should be noted that 61-year-old Yahya Sinvar died heroically in a face-to-face battle with Israeli soldiers in October. Despite being wounded by tank shells and rocket fragments, he fought until his last breath, and even though he was in a critical condition, he threw his stick at an Israeli drone, which became a world legend.
