White House: Tariffs on Chinese goods have reached 145 percent

According to a White House spokesman, the tariffs imposed by the United States on products imported from China currently stand at 145 percent.

The report said that President Donald Trump has increased tariffs on Chinese goods from 84 percent to 125 percent. However, the president had previously imposed an additional 20 percent tariff on Chinese goods due to the fentanyl problem. As a result, the total tariff rate on goods imported from China has reached 145 percent.

The Chinese government had previously raised tariffs on all goods imported from the United States to 84 percent. Xinhua reported that this measure was taken in response to the US decision to increase tariffs on Chinese products to 104 percent.

The Customs Tariff Commission under the State Council of China also imposed export controls on 12 more US companies and added six companies to the list of "unreliable entities."

The source reported that the Chinese Foreign Ministry called on the US to lift unilateral tariffs and resolve disputes based on mutual respect.
