"We will stay here and die here" - Palestinian survivor of the first Nakba denounces Trump's plan
The American publication Reuters interviewed Rashad Mansour, a Palestinian who was two years old during the Nakba, the mass expulsion of Palestinians by Israel in 1948.
Rashad Mansur, one of the survivors of the exile, stated that he firmly refused to leave his homeland:
"We want to stay on our land and in our homeland. We reject calls to become refugees and such."
Like many Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, Mansour dreams of returning to his family home. However, his village of Beit Daras no longer exists - it was destroyed by Israel, the agency reported.
During the recent conflict, Mansour was forced from his home in Khan Yunis, Rafah, with his son, daughter-in-law and four grandchildren. After the ceasefire, he returned to Khan Yunis, which he said was the worst of the wars.
He also condemned the Donald Trump administration's plans to resettle refugees in neighboring countries that are unwilling to accept them.
