USAID allocates $47,000 for transgender
USAID releases spending report
The White House has released a report on where and for what purposes funds were spent by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Elon Musk has previously accused USAID of developing biological weapons and creating COVID-19, and the new administration has argued that the agency has spent decades on dubious projects without transparent reporting.
The report shows that funds were allocated to build irrigation canals in Afghanistan and purchase fertilizers used in heroin production.
Hundreds of thousands of dollars were sent to a non-profit organization linked to terrorism, as well as funds allocated to provide food for al-Qaeda militants.
$47,000 allocated for "transgender opera" in Colombia.
$32,000 spent on a "transgender comics" project in Peru.
A $70,000 donation was made to a musical film aimed at LGBT advocacy in Ireland.
The new administration is calling the use of USAID funds in such areas "questionable and illegal spending."
