UN toes the line drawn by the West - "Taliban"
Official Kabul has sharply criticized the fact that Afghanistan's official seat in the UN has not yet been recognized.
According to government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, the UN has now lost its neutrality and independence.
"The UN was supposed to remain a neutral institution. However, it is currently operating under the influence of Western political dictates. It has lost its effectiveness and independence," he said.
Mujahid believes that the diplomat currently speaking on behalf of Afghanistan at the UN was appointed during the previous government.
What principles and rules does it operate by? It has no internal legitimacy and does not represent the Afghan people, says an Afghan official.
For your information, the Taliban has been demanding international recognition since seizing power in August 2021. In particular, there have been calls for Afghanistan's seat at the UN to be transferred to an ambassador appointed by the Taliban.
