Trump hosts iftar dinner at the White House

US President Donald Trump has revived the tradition of hosting an iftar dinner at the White House, dedicated to the month of Ramadan.

According to the Anadolu Agency, the event, organized yesterday, was attended by representatives of the US Muslim community and diplomats from Muslim countries such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE, Qatar, Lebanon, and Pakistan.

At the ceremony, Trump congratulated guests on Eid al-Fitr and expressed gratitude for the support shown by the Muslim community during his recent presidential election.

"I want to say a special thank you to the hundreds of thousands of Muslim Americans who voted for me in record numbers in the 2024 election. It was absolutely amazing," the US president said.

Trump stressed that his administration is committed to fulfilling its promises to the Muslim community. He noted that diplomatic efforts to establish peace in the Middle East are ongoing, the agency reported.

The US leader also expressed special gratitude to the Muslim community in Michigan, saying, "I will always be with you and support you throughout my presidency. I want you to know that."
