Saudi Arabia has apologized to Rabbi Abraham Cooper, a member of the US delegation, who refused to remove his kippah while entering a cultural heritage site in Diriya.

The embassy of Saudi Arabia in the United States apologized to Rabbi Avraham Cooper for the incident in the city of Diriya near Riyadh, AZfront writes.

The fact is that on March 5, Rabbi Cooper, the head of the American delegation, was asked to remove his kippah when he visited Diriya, a UNESCO cultural heritage site in Riyadh. He refused to do so, after which the US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) prematurely ended his visit to Saudi Arabia .

" This unpleasant incident occurred as a result of a misunderstanding of internal protocols ," said a statement published on the embassy's website. The message states that they are looking forward to welcoming him back to the Kingdom.
