On this day, the Council of Ministers of Kuwait announced that the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal al-Ahmad al-Jabir al-Sabah has become the new emir of the country.
Sheikh Mishal, the new emir of Kuwait, was born on September 27, 1940. He is the 7th son of former emir Sheikh Ahmad al-Jabir al-Sabah.
After receiving his primary education at the Mubarakie School in the capital of Kuwait, he graduated from the Hinden Police College in England in 1960.
Sheikh Mishal, who worked in various positions in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, served as the head of the State Security Institution with the rank of colonel in 1967-1980.
He was appointed Deputy Chief of the National Guard on January 13, 2004 and served until becoming Crown Prince. Sheikh Mishal was appointed as the crown prince by the decree issued by Amir Nawaf on November 15, 2021.
