The Gulf states will allocate 1.6 billion dollars for the reconstruction of Gaza
At the Doha summit, the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council pledged to allocate an additional 1.6 billion dollars for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip. It is mentioned in the statement published on the website of the secretariat of the organization .
According to the report , the participants of the summit "committed to allocate an additional 1.646 billion dollars" within the framework of the reconstruction program of the Gaza Strip developed in 2009.
The Doha Declaration also states that the country's leaders "underscored the need for the immediate resumption of a humanitarian ceasefire to achieve a full and sustainable ceasefire and ensure the flow of humanitarian aid, fuel, food and medicine to the people of Gaza."
The council reiterated its demand for an end to Israel's occupation of Palestinian territories and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital within the 1967 borders. The Gulf countries also stressed the need to "redouble the efforts of the international community to resolve the conflict in order to realize all the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people."
On December 5, the leaders of six Gulf states , including Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, gathered in Qatar for a summit to discuss the situation in Palestine and the wider Middle East region.
