The Ministry of Health of Sudan reported that 128 new cases of cholera were registered in Kesele and Gadarif regions, bringing the total number of infected people to 1351 and 56 of them died. The number of victims of ongoing floods in the country has reached 138 people.

Sudan's Ministry of Health reported that the number of people who died due to the cholera epidemic in the country has reached 56. In the statement of the ministry, it was stated that 128 new cases of cholera were registered in Kesele and Gadarif regions.

The statement noted that with the new cases, the total number of infected people increased to 1,351, and the number of people who died due to cholera increased to 56.

While the civil war continues, the ineffectiveness of the health system complicates the epidemiological situation in Sudan.

On the other hand, 156,995 people were reported affected in 10 out of 18 states due to heavy rains and floods in the country this year.

In the statement, it was noted that 16,188 houses completely collapsed and 14,099 houses partially collapsed due to floods.

The Ministry of Health reported on August 27 that since June, the number of people killed by heavy rains and floods in 10 states has reached 138.

Floods and flooding in Sudan's rainy season from July to October kill more than 100 people each year and damage tens of thousands of homes, businesses and farmland.
