Tajikistan Human Rights Representative (Ombudsman) Umid Bobozoda sent a request to her Russian colleague Tatyana Moskalkova expressing concern about the violation of the rights of migrants working in Russia.

"According to reports from mass media and social networks, the legality of documents of migrant workers is currently being checked in the territory of the Russian Federation. In the video materials published on social networks, it is possible to see that the employees of the law enforcement agencies are using prohibited methods, such as rudeness, beating, and insults against immigrants. We are concerned that the rights and freedoms of immigrants are being violated," the application reads.

Bobozoda also criticized the fact that Tajiks , in particular civil servants, students, elderly, women and children, are being detained at the Russian border for a long time, and that they are not provided with the necessary conditions.

The ombudsman of Tajikistan reminded his Russian colleague of the importance of observing the rights of citizens of his country and asked for help in monitoring such cases.

On October 5, the Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzada raised the issue of violation of basic rights and freedoms of Tajiks in Russia in a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin.

"It is impossible not to be worried about the tendency of large-scale violations of the basic rights and freedoms of our citizens during the measures to regulate the migration sphere in Russia," said Rasulzoda.

On October 10, the President of Tajikistan E. Momali Rahmon discussed labor migration issues in a meeting with the Speaker of the Russian Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko.

It should be noted that after the subversive act that took place in the "Crocus City Hall" in the Moscow region, Russia's policy against labor migrants from not only Tajikistan, but also Central Asia became tougher.
